White House gives cool welcome to bill restricting online ammo sales

I'm not sure who all has seen this but I figured I would post it on here since I'm guessing a lot of us buy ammo online.

I've been firing off emails and calling my reps left and right lately. If just a fraction of gun owners would do the same then there would be very little chance of any of these ridiculous regulations passing. We need to get off our collective ass an make our voices heard! Believe it or not, phone calls, letters, emails, etc. are counted and they do influence policy. There is no second place in politics and law! You win or you don't! No middle ground.

Sure hope it doesn't pass. It deffinetly wouldn't have prevented what happened in Colorado so where they come up with this stuff befuddles me.

With ammo sales and shortages what they are already, this will spike prices even more, as even more buyers jump in to get theirs. Hussein ozero doesn't want to touch this right now...he's doomed already after telling American business owners and entrepreneurs that "You didn't build that."

While I might agree with you regarding their theoretical doom at the polls, the memory of the Aurora shooting is still fresh enough in a lot of minds and with the press pushing for action and Obama just looking for any winnable popular cause, I wouldn't assume anything and would fight this till it's over the finish line. Fully concur with Txgunner-pound your reps with a polite, intelligent but assertive argument as to why this should not pass. We have to put some mass and momentum behind this and shut the back doors, as that seems to be the opposition's favorite point of both entry and egress. And if I have to hear Wasserman-Schultz any longer, I'd be looking for a dirty sock to quiet her down.

The thing that gets me is this bill has absolutely nothing to do with preventing crime! If these clowns actually wanted to reduce crime, they should want all sales to be online. Think about it- with online purchases you have a traceable credit card, a physical address, higher cost for shipping, a waiting period (shipping), limits on how much can be physically shipped at one time, etc., etc. If I go to a Mom and Pop gun store and pay cash, there is hardly any trace at all. As LRRPF52 said, this will do nothing but drive up prices and make it harder for the average American to exercise their God given rights.

I say again, contact your reps. Urge friends and family to do so as well! There is strength in numbers!

Something else to contact them about...

Cyber Security Act of 2012 (S. 3414) - In addition to giving DHS the power to regulate & enforce cybersecurity for private industry, the gun ban clowns slipped in an amendment to ban magazines over 10 rounds. The gun grabbers will stop at nothing short if total disarmament! We must stay vigilant!

I was just about to add that here as well, it fires me up because as txgunner00 said online purchases are more traceable. I was going to post something about it on Facebook so all my friends and family could see/hear about it but I just know there would be the one or two people that would start an argument.

and what of most recent Brownell's webbench monthly blog regarding the UN weapons treaty? in case we don't realize it, we're being attacked from all corners, more to the point of addressing this with your favorite local politician.

On the plus side they have postponed the treaty until sometime next year sometime, at least that's what I read. So at least we have time to fight that one a bit.

Looks like Hussein will win the NRA and NSSF best salesman of the year award again for 2012. Congrats Barry Hussein So-ozero! Making William Jefferson Blythe look like a lightweight! This is change we can believe in! firearms industry has doubled its volume in 4 years, in this economy.

2008 Industry economic impact: $19.1 billion
2011 Industry economic impact: $31.8 billion
2012: results will be out next year, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see $38 billion, considering how much more volume I've seen this year compared to last.

The UN ban would create an enforcement division within every member state, to add teeth to gloabl gun control. This coming from the most corrupt collection of corrupt dictators from around the world, who wheel and deal in illegal weapons trafficking on a regular basis. Did you know that 50,000 NYC prostitutes would lose their clientele if the UN HQ Building were shut down? It's a pack of despots, begging to be thrown out of the US, but the aparatchik propaganda services won't touch the coverage of that place (CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, Time, WSJ, etc.).

Just think how much the taxpayers would save if they didn't have to give out all that free penicillin.

The UN seems to have long since outlived it's usefulness, and can't even seem to defend a territory effectively, nor offer protection to residents at great risk to serious levels of threat. Save us all some money and shut 'er down and move it out of the US. We've already got enough entitlement programs and drains on our tax resources without another ineffective recipient sucking us dry.
