    Accurate Powder load data

Received updated data from Western Powders (Accurate Powders). Data posted below:

    additional remarks from ballistician:
"We have, however, tested the 6.5 Grendel since you last communicated and I am listing that data for you. 2460 performed well and provided good case fills. You can load your bolt rifle with up to 26.5 grains of 2460 with your 129/130 grain bullets and stay under the 58,000 PSI."

"They (listed powders) all meet military standards for temp stability, but 2200 and 2230 are probably the best. I would go with 2230 or 2460 in your bolt gun."

    Thanks for the data.

Wonder why they don't show anything for the Grendel with their 2520 powder?

      Yes, thanks Bjorn!

I also wish they'd have shown the 2520 data...they think it's too fast?

Thank you thank you. excellent info. just put that in my Excel work book for safe keeping :-)

one question i thought the standard twist for the grendel was 8.75 - 9 i see they used 1-10 twist?

I emailed them with a suggestion to test/publish with heavier bullets...129/130 gr varieties. Suggest others do the same...

I never would have considered AA 2200; wondered about 2460 (is that a newer powder?)

Thanks. Didn't notice that there was more than one page.

I've tried 2200. Seems better suited to bullets weighing ~108gr or less. I think it's too fast for ~120gr +.

Load with AA2520 (older powder before western)

                I have a 24" Over Watch with 1 in 9 twist, I use 29.6 grains AA2520, O.A.L 2.260,
123 grain Scenar, chronograph velocity of 2623 fps. As in the title, this powder I had before it went western, not sure if any change was made to formulation. Another load I use is with the 90 grain Speer TNT, with 29.9 grains of BenchMark, O.A.L. of 2.200,
                Velocity is 2856 fps.

Western is the parent company...(includes Accurate Powders, Ramshot Powders, Montana Xtreme Powders). I doubt they changed 2520. I have some but haven't loaded it up yet. I had been using 2230 with 129 SST, but now am leaning to IMR 8208XBR based upon higher velocities.

IMR hasn't replied to load data requests...if anyone has luck communicating with them, please post.

IMR 8208 load data is on the Hodgdon load data site. They are owned by the same company now

I had emailed them for 129/130 gr data as well...no reply. Western at least responded to my request for specific load data for 129 SST.
