    129gr ABLR load

Just thought i would throw this load out there since this bullet is always worth more attention.

    20" barrel, Grendel II chamber
    26gr 8208 XBR
    No 41 primer
    Hornady case
    2.26" COAL

    .5moa
    2299fps average
    SD 14.8
    Spread 28

No issues with how the brass looked. And for some reason recoil felt more pleasant than some other loads.. more straight back and less barrel rise.

29.6gr cfe averaged 40fps faster and had tighter SD and half the velocity spread, but the accuracy wasnt there.

Thanks for the load info. Getting ready to try out some loads with the 129gr ABLR myself. Will try 8208 and H4895, going to use them for this upcoming deer season in a 16" Grendel.

I was pretty happy to find a good shooting load without going through a pile of these premium bullets. 2300fps gives an entire 1000yards of bullet preformance if the 1300fps threshold proves true.

Now back to trying to find the best load for 123eldm's. my rifle doesnt seem to care for the 8208xbr combos most use for this bullet. I loaded up some rounds with Ramshot Tac today. Will see if that works out better.

If you have AR comp, you might try that. start at ~26.0 and work up by 0.3's. max don't go over ~28.0 or 2450.
          my 2 cents.

Neither of those powders I have been able to find unfortunately. I have onhand cfe223, H335,H4895, RL15, bl-c2 and 3031 to go from. And 8208 but as i said it didnt seem to agree as well as most have found it. I was getting decent groups at a charge of 26.5 but velocity was low and spread was around 75fps. Tried various charges up to 28(didnt want to go higher) and thing never improved overall. So have kind of gave up on that one.

Thanks for that info Pootyng, i actually have that bullet to work with. Was getting pretty good results with 29gr of H335. Seemed a bit hot though so i reduced the charge to 28.7. Have to reshoot to confirm. Loaded at 2.26"
What coal do you use for the 110cc and do you crimp it? I find im too close to the grooves in the bullet to crimp.

FTF with Tac powder. 28.5gr under 100gr Ballistic tip and 28gr under 123gr Eldm both gave issues from a firearm that usually has no issues. Groups werent worth mentioning either. Doesnt seem to like this powder with that minimal testing.

CFE223 129gr LRAB 2.265 inches CCI 450 I would expect somewhere between 29.7 and 30.6 gr to shoot well. 30.6 does in my 2 Grendel's.

26.5 grains of H4895 worked well for me, sub MOA and killed deer DRT.

What is the attraction of these bullets? Just that they open up reliably at very low speeds? How do they do close in?
