PRIMERS at Sportsman Outdoor Super Store

Our gun shop and outdoor supply store is your source for sporting equipment and firearms online. Order your gear today at Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore.

I received an email at 7:00 PM from the super store regarding available primers: Federal large and small pistol and CCI #400 small rifle.

Went to site and noticed CCI small rifle available; refreshed the page and SOLD OUT.

They wanted $99 + $25 hazmat + shipping for a box of 1,000. Limit was one box.

No. I did not buy any nor did I want to buy any. I am well stocked from years ago.

I was attempting to notify the krew here of primer availability.

The bots are too fast for me.

    Regards,
    D1

Like you I stocked up during the barryscare years, I realize how I shouldn't have taken the Trump years for granted.

however.com because what I have may be the last ever, I'm currently only shooting and loading hunting ammo.

Why are we acting like this is news. Every distributor is gouging on everything right now. Simple solution, STOP BUYING THINGS FROM THE GOUGERS! If people had enough sense, they would have stocked up long ago. There is no need to shoot every week and burn through ammo and components. Zero need. Simply put off shooting for now and wait for the panic buying retardation to slow and prices to normalize like after every other panic.

GSPDad, in normal times the advise you give would be a common sense solution, and it may turn out as you say. But there are many who fear that our country is headed for a future where anything firearms related will be impossible to get and they still need to protect their family and perhaps their freedom. For them, it may be get it now or never.

Just a clarification. Should we stop shooting matches altogether? Or just stop practicing for them. TIA.
          Let's go Brandon!

I'd say that is what is going on and how to get it under control again .

I have. Why do I want to burn through stock that is next to impossible to replace at the moment? Unless a sponsor is paying me to shoot, then it's something that can sit on the back burner until times are better. Just like every other panic. Why buy into these gougers and feed their greed? Is shooting a match paying your bills and putting food on the table?

Sierra is spot on right here: The last issue is the profiteers. They are buying up everything they can get their hands on and reselling it online for a huge profit. I saw 1000 primers with an $800 bid online the other day and the auction was not over. The only way to stop this is to not pay inflated prices for their hoarded goods. Let them sit on their investment so they cannot make a profit. The industry will catch up to the demand. But it is going to take a while.

The "get it now or never mentality" happens every time we have a political related panic. Have they banned ammo or components over the last few decades? Nope, and they won't. Do we really think these huge companies like Vista Outdoors will voluntarily stop producing ammunition and components and just say "ok daddy government, we'll close our doors and stop selling to the public"? I get the whole fear of possibly needing to defend your freedoms and family, but can we honestly say that we are going to need to fight our own troops or a foreign invasion man to man on our own soil? Is it a possibility, sure, is it likely to happen, no. Does that mean we need to pay panic prices and hoard things? Absolutely not! As I have stated many, many times and will continue to do so. Let these gougers/profiteers sit on their inventory and take a bath on their "investments".

I don't shoot competition. Probably won't either. However, one thing I have done (besides stocking up a little at a time) is to have some diversity in rifle so that I can a) spread out my shooting over a few platforms, don't wear one out, and b) load, develop and play around with various rounds/combinations to find ones I like. All that being said, between Hidinbidin's hatred of gas and oil, the current craziness, and being on a retired budget, I do find my self budgeting my shootin' and being a bit more conservative of resources -- gas/trips as well. This is typical behavior though, you tend to conserve more what you have the least of yet still need/want.
                          Personal economics.

Most of these guys have chicken little syndrome and believe everything they read or see from the media. Nobody is going to ban ammo and components, it's too big of an industry and money maker. We have seen this many times over the last several decades, it's nothing new yet folks still fall for it every single time and these shops and distributors love it.

                              GSP:

The Democrats had no qualms about destroying our steel industry and are in the process of destroying our fossil fuel industry right now. Somehow I don't believe they care if Vista Corp goes out of business due to their political mandates. Remember something about Communists. Any amount of suffering caused by their decisions is simply a sacrifice for the long term benefit of the collective society. And they hate firearms and gun owners almost as much as they hate gasoline and the internal combustion engine.
