Hornady 123 Amax ammo velocity

Anyone shoot this through a chrony? First time I did today and average velocity of 2769 fps. Out if a 24" Grendel overwatch upper. With Alexander arms muzzle brake. Seems high to me.

Are we talking factory Hornady 123gr boxed ammo, or your loads?

This is an AA barrel/bolt, from AA?

Shot recently in cold temps?

How far is the chrono from the muzzle?

Factory loads AA barrel and bolt. 880 elevation temps round 40. I'm going to do some drop test today to confirm.

I get about 2500 our of a 20 inch barrel measured at 15 feet. How far is your chrony from the muzzle? You may be getting blow by affecting the measurement.
