    Cb mkz 118 gr

Looking for suggestions on a powder to use for the Cavity Back Bullets MKZ 118 Grain. Speed is the number one priority as I hunt under 200 yards. If I can get 1.5 MOA I'll be happy.

From what I've researched top choices would be H335, XBR8208, LEVERevolution, AA2520. Any votes or write in nominations?

Of this powders. I would try h335 first and then leverevolution.

I have AA2520 just haven't gotten around too testing with it and don't use xbr8208 at all, so can't give any advice on this powders.

I wouldn't discount CFE as I get better velocities from the heavier pills from it. I've never used LFP, but from what some wise men have posted, the lead frees act more like a much heavier projectile than their actual weight.

      Otherwise, I like your list.

Good point. I've heard the same about copper bullets. It has to do with their length and contacting more of the groove longer...don't remember exactly.

I tried CFE, ARCOMP, and 8208 when I was working up with these bullets. I had the best results with 8208 and ARCOMP.
I started at 26.2 and worked up to 28 with ARCOMP.
I started at 27 and went to 28.2 with 8208.
Started at 30 and went to 31.5 with CFE.

I was getting about 2250 from an 11.5in lilja barrel with pretty good groups with the ARCOMP and 8208.

Nice. Thanks for the info. I considered ARCOMP for the temp change resistance.

H335, CFE, & ARCOMP are in the safe so I guess we'll try these 3 to start.

This mirrors what I found with the 118gr MKZ but did not try CFE... Same barrel, 100 FPS slower, and ~.75 MOA for me...
