140 grain eldm

Anyone have powder recommendations? Shot 100 of these with 25.6 grains of 8208 and cci 450s. They grouped very well but I didnt get any chrono data that day. Now I'm out of 8208 and was thinking about getting some more. Any powders I should choose over it?

The consensus on this sight is 8208 works best with 100 gr projectiles. One very knowledgeable member warns us it will spike very quickly if used under 120+ gr projectiles so be careful.

I see a lot of guys using cfe with heavier pills. Try searching the site or better yet get the reloading manuals from arbuildbox.com

Also I would get a chrongraph you are missing out on a lot of needed data by not useing one.

I load a lot with CFE. It a good powder to have on hand.

I would try CFE223. I use it for 140ssts in grendel and it shoots them very accurately.

AA2520 and LeverEvoloution have both done very well for me with the 130s, might try it with the 140s

What's the advantage of the 140 over the 123? Less wind drift? More energy on target? Just for the fun of it? I'm tempted to load some now just because.

No advantage really...i was just bored one day and had the 140s laying around for my creedmoor and decided what the heck lets try them in the grendel...
