Best powder for 100 gr. Ballistic Tips ?

So i bought a can of 8208, and since I have a short throated bca barrel, i can set bullets at thousants off.
I started @ mid charge, at 30.0 grains, and using an oal length gauge, i loaded 10 rounds, 5 at 0.020 off, and 5 at 0.030.
Slight breeze this morning coming at me at about 5:30.
Freshly cleaned barrel, and 1st 5 down the bore were kinda disapointing.(left diamond).
Next 5, at 0.020 off, were much better. Amazing how 0.010 will change group size.
I do feel I was to blame on shot 5, but ?
Going to try 30.0 grains again, and 5 rounds at 0.015 off, and see what happens.
If better, then I'll try .2 grains up to 30.8, to see if there is a node.
If I'm going to try to whack a coues deer, I need all the speed I can get.

I cleaned it to start fresh with a different powder. I use Barnes cr-10. This cleaning, after 30 rounds, the patches showed just a hint of blue, so it's a decent barrel.

went to the range today (brother's back yard) to shoot some loads thru the prs creedmoors so I grabbed the Grendel and shot some 100 amax thru the 18" BHW. here is the chrono with the Labradar.

Had some great results today with H335 and 100BT. Under .5 moa at 100yds and .8425 at 200. Using a RAP bolt gun. 28.5 grains.

I like H335, but it hasn't produced any good groups for me with 123 SST or 120 NBT for me. NOT aweful, just not as good as other powders.

Need to test all over the chrony soon.

Groups are showing promise !
30.2 gr's of 8208 behind a 100gr bt, shot very well, except for that 1st shot, high and right ....
30.4 gr's is the right target.

I've loaded another 5 with 30.2, but am only 0.010 off the rifling now.
Next session, I'll see.

Anyone try 100 BTips over AR Comp? I want to try this out.

30.2, at 0.010 off isn't it.
Going back to 0.015 off, and calling it good.
Now see what the velocity is out of an 18" barrel.
What do i expect from an $80.00 barrel, with a short throat ?

So you found a node for your rifle at 30.2 with no pressure signs? AR COMP?

What velocity did you get?

Haven't run any across a chrono yet.
The wind has been real bad here lately, so I haven't brought it.
I've been shooting when it hasn't gotten up bad yet,.
I got swipes with factory ammo. No clue on pressure? Brass looks good, primers are not falling out, and no issues with my rifle.
It's all good .....

My next outing, I'm going to drop the 1st round into the chamber, and trip the carrier.
We'll see if i can do away with that 1st round flier.
