    Cavity Back Bullets

I bought some 118 and 105gr, question now is how to load 'em.
I could probably extrapolate from similar weights of other brands,
but would much rather try some already proven loads to avoid wasting
these cool looking but expensive projectiles unnecessarily. From what
I have seen on U2b, piggies and deer are not going to like me.

Any hints and help is much appreciated.

He has done extensive testing on the lead free pills and may have some info for you. There also is a rep from cavity back bullets that posts here. I can't recall his name but do search and you should be able to find him.

I copied this from cavitybackbullets post

I have been running more loads now that the weather is changing here.
18in ARP 5R barrel, CCI 450 primers, Lapua brass.
I was able to get 2630 fps from our 118 MKZ at 2.28 OAL and 31.5 grains of CFE.
I would consider this a max load as there were slight swipes and primers starting to flatten.
27 grains of AR Comp got me 2530 FPS at .35 MOA @ 100 yards, no pressure signs. There may be a bit more room here.
28 grains of 8208 got me to 2560 fps, no pressure signs.
Work up of course but I was fairly impressed with the speeds I was getting from a solid copper.

I just built a 6.5G with an ARP 18" 5R barrel with the 750XD bolt.
Looking for load data for the 105gr MKZ, please.

            Thanks,
            Lee

Does anyone have a load for the 118MKZ with Leverevolution. I wasn’t thrilled with my group sizes with XBR. 1.4” was the smallest. Thinking about playing with seating depth, but I’m curious about LVR, as well. Awfully expensive to keep fiddling with...
