    Rl 550b

Wondering if anybody has had success with loading precision rifle rounds with rl 550b. Or is it just for plinking ammo. Are the powder drops consistent? Or is there a lot of adjusting. Thanks guys

This is a very consistent press as long as you have it set up correctly.

The best judgment I have, are by the low Extreme Spreads and Standard Deveation that my LabRadar reports back to me during load development and normal range sessions.

I can load 10 powder dumps of whatever powder I am working with into my RCBS Chargemaster and it usually is only off by .02 of a grain. The longer extruded powders are the harder powders to keep consistent. H110 and TAC run great and are always 10x whatever my single charge weight is.

You can use this press as a single stage or progressive. That, coupled with all the different calibers you can run on this press makes it very well worth the money.

Been using it for my Grendel for four years now. The only powder I use in 8208XBR and it meters very well.

If you don't like the consistency you get with the Dillon powder measure, Dillon sells an adapter that fits the Hornady manual measure.

It slows you down, but you get more precise control of charge weights.

I have a XL 650 that is just waiting for a home to be set up in so I have only so far used a 550B but I have load extremely accurate ammo on it.
