Went back last night to that big porker that I shot last Thurs. and spotted 2 yotes munchin down at around 400 yds. away from us. That distance is farther than what I want to shoot plus I really like to stalk for fun and thats what I decided to do. Luck wasn't on my side though and them yotes spotted me right away and bolted into the woodline 100 yds away. They didn't seem to spooked as they were pacing up and down the woodline. I positioned us 70 yds downwind of the sow right behind a irrigation pivot tire that was 36" tall or so. It wasn't 15 minutes and here they came marching back to the bait. As I was looking through my scope I noticed that both of the dogs were side by side in a stacked up sort of way. I pulled the trigger and they both dropped dead right there. Damn Grendel just keeps amazin me. Look in the background and you can see that big 300lb porker layin there.
As we were finishing up with the picture of the 2 yotes we grabbed our rifles and started to walk out of the field and I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted this boar hog over by my parked truck. We were already down wind and walked right up to within 60 yds and shot him down.
We hunted all night and ran up on these yotes in different fields at different locations. All in all we shot 4 yotes and 2 hogs last night.
