Joining the Hord

Hey everyone,

I've been researching possibly getting into 6.5 Grendel so natural that found me stumbling into here. Normally I build my own ARs and have been highly considering a 12" 6.5G upper build for my SBR'ed lower. I currently have an 8.5" 300BO upper on that lower and do not run it suppressed. Basically just sits in a safe as my HD rifle with Barnes copper projectiles. I'm considering going away from 300BO since I really don't plan on ever suppressing it. Any really good reason to move to a 6.5G 12" upper instead for HD and range fun?

looked at ya'lls group buy barrel and also a complete 12" PSA upper. Both are high up on my list of possibilities but I am really trying to find more accuracy data on the 12" PSA uppers whether SS or Nitride.

Oh yeah and I guess I should say I'm in the Greenville SC area.

I am just in the process of building my first Grendel in a 12", but the same thing drove me to this forum. I have a gas piston 556 that serves as my HD/truck gun and I wanted to do a pistol build, so after researching I ended up here. 123's at 2200 fps are what I am shooting for out of mine and that is absolutely nothing to sneeze at.

And LRRPF52's write ups on his pistol drove me over the edge.

Wecome to the forum Styer! I just ordered a 12” 6.5 Grendel and will complete the build once all my parts arrive. I have several hand guns but no AR-15 pistols. The 6.5 Grendel can be very addictive but it is a very versatile cartridge.

Welcome to the Horde. I use a 6.5 Grendel 12 inch pistol for a pickup gun and have found it to be very effective on hogs out to 300 yards.
